What it does

In one workflow you can:

  • Paste a job description (or a short role brief)
  • Set must-haves (skills, tools, domain terms)
  • Add knockouts (location, authorization, degree requirement, years, etc.)
  • Upload a batch of resumes
  • Get a ranked list: Top / Maybe / Not a Fit
  • Review reasons + flags per candidate
  • Export results to CSV (after approval)

Why “batch shortlisting” beats manual screening

Manual screening breaks for two reasons:

  1. it’s slow at volume
  2. it’s inconsistent across reviewers

Batch Shortlisting solves both:

  • Speed: rank 200+ resumes quickly
  • Consistency: the same rules applied to every file
  • Visibility: reasons you can share internally
  • Coverage: helps surface strong candidates that get missed in a quick skim

How scoring works (explainable by design)

The scorer blends role language match with evidence signals.

What we evaluate

  • Role alignment: title matches + synonyms + relevance early in the resume
  • Must-have presence: whether required skills are found, and where
  • Evidence weighting: skills shown in experience bullets count more than “skills-only” lists
  • Experience in scope: estimated years across date ranges
  • Continuity flags: gaps or ultra-short stints flagged for review
  • Resume readability signals: structure that parses cleanly, clear headings, consistent dates
  • Optional links: LinkedIn / GitHub / portfolio signals (when provided)

What each candidate gets

  • a total score
  • sub-scores (alignment, must-haves, evidence)
  • plain-language reasons (ex: “SQL found in experience”, “Title match: BI Analyst”)
  • flags for quick triage (ex: scannedPdf, gapsDetected, skillsOnlyTech)

Use cases teams actually run

  • High-volume inbound for a single role (200–1,000+ resumes)
  • Agency screening across multiple similar reqs
  • Hiring manager triage before an intake sync
  • Intern and graduate pipelines where titles vary and projects need context
  • Hard-skill roles where must-haves matter (cloud, data, security, CRM ops)

FAQ

How does Recruiter Batch Shortlisting work?

Paste a job description, set must-haves and knockouts, then upload a resume batch. The tool ranks candidates into Top / Maybe / Not a Fit with reasons and review flags.

What makes the scoring explainable?

Each result includes a total score, sub-scores (role alignment, must-haves, evidence), and plain-language reasons such as where key skills were found (experience vs skills list).

What file types are supported?

Text-based PDFs and DOCX parse best. Scanned PDFs are detected and flagged so you can review extraction quality.

Can I export the shortlist?

Yes. CSV export is available in Recruiter Mode after approval. Paid plans include higher limits and exports.

Is the data private?

Yes. Resumes and job descriptions are processed securely. You can delete a job and remove associated documents at any time. See /security for details.

How do I get access?

Create a free account, open your dashboard, and request access under Recruiter Mode. Approvals are invite-only during rollout.
